Crowns
Many of us have seen crowns, either on ourselves or friends, that appear chalky,
lifeless or with dark metal lines at the gum line. Unfortunately, these are
the drawbacks to conventional crowns and bridges.
Fortunately, with today's advances in porcelain, Drs. Bo and Sue can deliver
the most beautiful, natural looking crowns - making it virtually impossible
to tell a crown from a natural tooth.
Crowns and Bridge Alternatives
Crowns - also known as caps - are covering used over the entire tooth. They
are used when a part of a tooth breaks or little tooth is left after an old
silver filling is removed due to decay.
Unfortunately, any good tooth that remains must be drilled down to allow for
the fit of the crown. Patients often refer to this as the "peg" or
"pin point."
Today with advanced dentistry, Drs. Bo and Sue can often avoid significant
tooth removal.
Bonded Inlays and Onlays
Greatly increases strength to teeth that have been lost due to older fillings
or partial breakage. In most cases your tooth no longer has to be drilled to
a "peg." Drilling is kept to an absolute minimum, offering the most
conservative type of restoration! And the esthetics are absolutely beautiful!
Bridges
A bridge is a way to replace one or more missing teeth. It stays fixed in the
mouth. In a conventional bridge, if one tooth is missing, the teeth on either
side of the space must both be drilled to a "peg." Too often healthy
teeth must be drilled down to allow the space with the missing tooth to be filled.
With today's technology, we can replace the missing teeth with very little drilling
of the teeth on either side - Minimal Drilling with Beautiful Results!
Implants
Dental implants are becoming more popular as replacements for missing teeth.
A titanium implant is inserted into the bone replacing the root of a missing
tooth so a crown can be attached to it. So a single missing tooth to an entire
mouth may be replaced with permanently placed implants and crowns. Dentures
can also be stabilized and made comfortable by attaching to an implant.
